Dr. Tan Siong San is a general surgeon who specialises in general surgical and endoscopic procedures. Dr. Tan Siong San has also performed a wide range of procedures for the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile duct. This includes laparoscopic liver and pancreas resection, laparoscopic cholecystectomy and bile duct exploration, stomach, small bowel, and colon resections, laparoscopic appendicectomy, laparoscopic hernia repair, esophagus-gastro-duodenoscopy, colonoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. He has a subspecialty interest in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. Dr. Tan Siong San received his training in general surgery and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery at Changi General Hospital and Singapore General Hospital. Dr. Tan Siong San was awarded SingHealth’s Health Manpower Development Plan Award in 2010. He was appointed as the director of HPB service in Changi General Hospital for 9 years, contributing to the development and expansion of the service, including the addition of minimally invasive HPB surgery capabilities. He received the title of adjunct assistant professor from Duke-NUS Medical School in 2019.
