Dr. Amitabh Monga is a gastroenterologist practicing at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. He is experienced in both hepatological and general gastroenterological disorders. His therapeutic endoscopy interests include procedures including video capsule endoscopy, double balloon enteroscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, oesophageal, duodenal, and colonic stenting, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Dr. Monga worked at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) for eleven years prior. Right now, TTSH and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Singapore are home to him as a visiting consultant. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree in 1995 from the University of Delhi, India, and finished his internal medicine residency in 1999. After completing his gastrointestinal specialty study at TTSH, he became a member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2005. In 2009, Dr. Monga obtained accreditation as a specialist in gastroenterology, and in 2013, he was granted Fellowship status by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He did a fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy and ERCP at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG), India, after being granted the Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship by the Ministry of Health, Singapore, in 2010. He taught at the Singapore Hands-on Live Endoscopy Course (SHOLEC) in 2014 and 2015, and GIHep Singapore from 2013 to 2018. The Yong Loo Lin Medical School Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence was given to Dr. Monga in 2008 and 2009.
